Last outdoor season race at Jackson, NJ this weekend

The race is for good cause for charity race on this Sunday.

I will need to get my spool fixed up with 4 screws on each out drive and I gotta make a set for my buddy young too, I don't know if I have that many set screws I might have to remove all the set screws from 48P pinions.

I been practicing Mini-z latley at NYRC near my home sometime. I think it can help me quite well

hope to see many of you at the Jackson this Sunday.

Season ending race of da beach track at Staten Island.

I went to race at da Beach track and had great time.

few things that I experienced is like Flyingfox spool mod I did held up great but could been better if I modified little further which I will do with in a week or two to race at the Jackson for their Last race of the season, I'll post here once it done.

Mazda Speed 6 is for Radius turn and LTC-R for square up turns, car carrying more grip till end of radius with a Spd6, perhaps here in east coast with all this plywood barriers with lots of sharp corners better use with a LTC-R

oh! GREAT news for NY racers! Vito at NYChobbies just announced their opening of Carpet track in Queens, stay tuned.

Flying Fox solid spool mod

I found half stripped out drives on my car since the race from yesterday
I thought it is better to have this spool made look like one way unit so we can use a one way out drive cups which gets to bolt down to mounted instead of snapped on to the tube but few people on RCtech pointed out one way out drive is not any better as shown below.

as many like to say " that's how it is" what can I do...

that's not my way! as usual I made my own to make the things better.

I drilled 4 holes on out drives with a 3/32" bit and screwed 5/40 set screws about 4mm long, this way it triple the contacting surface on the tube against plastic out drives.

One thing that concerned me is like what Mike L from MikeLdesign.com (also a type-R driver) is "there is no fuse, would you rather it be the plastic out drive or your LCD collar?' and I don't want that problem, only thing I can think of is run the front belt loose enough to be skiipped before LCD coupler get damaged.

follow up: since I did this mod, I didnt have any trouble on the spool or out drives yet, I ran 100 + packs with stock, SS, or 10.5 Mod with it, try it you will thanks me later.

Racing this Sunday with my XXX-S

Going to Midland beach track at Staten Island this Sunday.
About a month ago I broke offset rear A-arm and had no spare, I went out to John's track with Regular arm as it show on left, car was pushing on 90deg square turns on power.

I bought a set of off set rear arms since then, also going to change pulleys (FR/RR) after 9 years of usage and going to try JRXS Type-R style front spool pad instead of sandpapers came with the XXX-S G+ cars.

I had sandpaper spool for a while with out any problem but lately its been slipping a bit, not sure if that is from age or not but I like the Idea of protecting tranny with that pad types of spool that can protect car's power tranny
